hopefully at sunset
continuing the conversation
oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words
but pouring them all right out just as they are, chaff and grain together
certain that a faithful hand will take them and sift them
keeping what is worth keeping and with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words
but pouring them all right out just as they are, chaff and grain together
certain that a faithful hand will take them and sift them
keeping what is worth keeping and with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away
what’s at sunset?
i love lots of things a whole lot. burritos, frisbees, Jesus, campfires, hoodies, the beach, etc. these all make me very, very happy.
but one of my favorite things ever is honest conversations. mano y mano; stink on stink; blood, sweat and tears all spilled out together, revelling in each other, our struggle, our conquest, our hypocrisy. but mostly, grace.
i found the poem above while preparing for a sermon a few years back, and it about sums it up. but the source of the thought, hopefullyatsunset, can be read in my blog by that title. it’s long, my first blogging effort, but it’s me. so read it. and then let’s talk. honestly.
oh, and i like burritos, too. hopefully at sunset.

hey Mr. Forrest!
Mood swings, tension, stress, feelings of overwhelmedness, etc. and so on! Keeping you in prayer! Love you, Mrs. Hardy
So glad to know you are safely in Ecuador! Sorry to read you’ve been sick, but glad to know you are on the mend…..YIKES…I shall have to make sure Mark reads the part about all the cavaties you have–not being to the dentist since 1996!!! He is procrastinating about going to the dentist and maybe reading that will get him moving!!!? Having a groom-to-be in the house is kind of like having a teenager in the house again!
